USDA Market News Enhances National Weekly Shell Egg Inventory Report

Today, USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) will publish an expanded National Weekly Shell Egg Inventory Report to better serve the egg industry.  The report now includes total inventory figures for specialty, cage free, and organic eggs by region.  The new format provides stakeholders a more complete picture of available egg inventories in one convenient report.

The National Weekly Shell Inventory Report delivers a representative measure of the shell eggs available in the marketplace each week by capturing the current inventories of shell eggs sitting in coolers.  The report compares the current week’s values to the previous week’s values, showing the inventory changes and trends from week to week.

The egg market information released by USDA Market News assists producers, consumers, processors, and distributors in the sale and purchase of eggs and egg products locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.  The National Weekly Shell Inventory Report, along with other egg market reports, can be found on the Livestock, Poultry, and Grain Market News webpage.
