Arena Cheese Wins Medal For Colby Cheese At American Cheese Society Cheese Contest

Arena Cheese’s Colby cheese won a medal for their traditionally crafted Colby cheese at this year’s ACS cheese contest in Providence, R.I. This is the 2nd nationally recognized medal win for Arena’s Colby cheese in 2015. This medal is in addition to their Best of Class win at this year’s US Cheese championships this spring.

Colby cheese was first discovered in the 19th century in Colby, Wisconsin. Arena’s Colby, marketed under the Spring Green brand, continues the tradition of crafting creamy, mild all-natural Colby cheese in both longhorn and deli horn shapes. Arena’s cheese is made with milk that is certified rBST free and made under the safety guidelines of BRC under the Global Food Safety Initiative.

In addition, Arena Cheese announced this month, a major plant expansion to be completed in 2015. The expansion will include space for additional vats, a new packaging room and additional milk intake. This expansion will allow Arena Cheese to increase production of their Colby, Colby/Jack (first discovered in 1979 at this location and made with the same recipe today), Gouda and an all-natural hardwood Smoked Gouda.
