Johnson City, TN—Celebrity Tunisian Chef Rafik Tlatli and olive oil & wine expert Bill Sanders will demonstrate the tastes of Tunisia featuring 100% Tunisian olive oil at Booth #1830 during this year’s Summer Fancy Food Show in New York, June 27-29, 2010.

Chef Rafik Tlatli is renowned for his fusion cuisine inspired by his homeland of Tunisia. During a recent visit to Memphis, TN, during the ‘Memphis in May’ celebration of Tunisia, Chef Rafik’s creations received rave reviews at the Peabody Hotel.

Bill Sanders of CrushandPress.com will also be on hand to provide tasting demonstrations of 100% Tunisian olive oil. Bill is a widely recognized expert in the field, and will answer questions about the nuances in aroma, flavor and bit in the varieties of olives found in Tunisia and its olive oils.

Extra virgin olive oil is highly regarded around the world for its extraordinary taste, color and aroma. Thanks to a unique “terroir” and unique varietals in the mild, Mediterranean climate, Tunisia has a deep-rooted history and culture in the production of olive oil dating back thousands of years. Located at the tip of Africa’s northern coast, just 60 nautical miles from the island of Sicily, Tunisia is the world’s fourth largest producer of olive oil.

Tunisian olive oil, because of its sweet taste and unique chemlali, chetoui, and oueslati olive varieties, has been used as a blending additive to soften the harsh taste of inferior oils for centuries. But with recent concerns over the quality of some “extra virgin” olive oils, ‘100% Tunisian’ is quickly becoming one of the most sought after brands worldwide.
