Cibus 2010 Opens World Markets To Made-In-Italy Agro-Food

PARMA, ITALY – Leaders of all the Italian Made-in-Italy agro-food sectors will participate in the 15th Edition of Cibus, the International Food Fair, in Parma from May 10 – 13, 2010.
Around 2,500 exhibitors will show more than 11,000 products over an exhibition area which has been extended to 130,000 square metres for Cibus 2010.

Seven thousand foreign professionals from 110 countries are expected to attend. For the first time, an exhibition area has been set aside for foreign retail chains to display their premium brand lines and meet with companies to integrate these with Made-in-Italy products. Also in this area, retailers will hold seminars to discuss their experience in selecting ranges and the Cibus International Export Awards will be presented.

Along with retail chains and representatives from various countries, Cibus 2010 will be attended by representatives of the catering companies, the Eating Out world, trade intermediaries, importers, wholesale brokers, University and Research Centre delegates, members of the Italian press, trade or otherwise, as well as many others.

Among the most prominent innovations is the PDO and PGI Piazza where, for the first time, the main Italian PDO and PGI products will be displayed alongside European PDO products.

As well as being an exhibition, CIBUS is also an opportunity for discussion and reflection for operators in the sector: numerous conferences and seminars will be held including the Federalimentare/Confindustria General Meeting, as well as other international level meetings where major players in the industry and the distribution sector will take part along with members of the scientific community.
