Columbus Foods' Artisan Finocchiona Wins In Good Food Awards Charcuterie Category

SAN FRANCISCO — Columbus Foods, San Francisco-based producer of premium specialty meats since 1917, has been named a Good Food Awards winner in the charcuterie category for its artisan Finocchiona. The honor recognizes Columbus’ craftsmanship and dedication to authenticity and responsible production methods.

The judging panel selected Columbus’ Finocchiona, seasoned with wild fennel seeds for a cool, sweet flavor and mellow texture, as one of 13 winners in the charcuterie category. In total, 114 products across nine categories were recognized, with more than 1,350 entries submitted.

“Columbus has been inviting consumers to explore the simple Italian goodness of our meats for close to a century; we’re dedicated to providing high quality products using traditional Italian recipes and methods,” said Tim Fallon, Columbus Foods CEO. “This award is a testament to our commitment to excellence and sustainability in our production process.”

The recognition comes on the heels of Columbus’ recent acceptance into the Good Food Merchants Guild, a select group of food merchants nationwide dedicated to producing specialty foods with the values of taste and authenticity. It also follows the brand’s fall release of the new Farm to Fork® Naturals™ line, a minimally-processed selection of deli meats and salame with no added nitrates or nitrites and made from hogs and turkeys humanely raised on family farms.
