Deli Distributors Cause Cold-Cut Calamity At Florida Fundraiser

A fundraising event for Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Southwest Florida apparently got a bit out of hand last weekend when two deli companies butted heads in Fort Myers and Port Charlotte.

It seems Philadelphia-based Dietz & Watson was setting up a booth for a local deli challenge fundraiser for the organization at one of five fundraising sites when rival Boars Head trucks and vans appeared, and, according to news accounts, blocked parking lots, keeping potential donors away.

A Dietz & Watson spokesman said the drivers were blowing their air horns, and it was really loud.
