Madison, WI — The International Dairy Deli Bakery Association™ (IDDBA) added Earvin “Magic” Johnson to the speaker lineup at IDDBA 17. Johnson’s presentation is titled “The Power of Magic.” IDDBA 17 runs June 4-6 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA.

A basketball legend turned business powerhouse, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Magic Johnson Enterprises, has dedicated his life to leaving a positive impact in underserved urban communities.

Following his retirement from the NBA over 20 years ago, he partnered with Sony Pictures and Starbucks, which served as catalysts for redevelopment in urban communities, and are widely recognized as the corporate blueprint for engagement and success with urban consumers across America.

Johnson made history in 2012 when he became co-owner of MLB’s Los Angeles Dodgers. He also co-owns the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks and Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles Football Club. His influence expanded into many other investments including EquiTrust Life Insurance Company, ASPiRE television network and SodexoMAGIC, a food service and facilities management company.

He has since broadened his scope into infrastructure and technology. Through a newly formed fund, Johnson is investing more than $1 billion on infrastructure improvement in the United States. Johnson is also a leading investor in several minority owned tech-companies including, Jopwell, a diversity and recruiting platform, and Walker & Co Brands, a company that develops health and beauty products for people of color. Serving as Chairman and Founder of the Magic Johnson Foundation, he’s helped to transform urban America through HIV/AIDS awareness and educational programs. Remaining true to his humble Lansing beginnings, Johnson is unwaveringly dedicated to working with major corporations to bring jobs and products to underserved communities.
