Wagshal's Imports Gets Into Manufacturing With Housemade Brisket

From a deli sandwich staple to a nationwide rollout, Wagshal’s Delicatessen’s famous beef brisket is about to become Wagshal’s Imports first product offering.

Based on Montreal-style smoked meat, the brisket has been offered in sandwich form at Wagshals’ three Washington, D.C., delicatessens for almost a decade. After careful consideration and nearly a year of development and testing, Wagshal’s principal, Aaron Fuchs, believes now is the perfect time to offer the company’s first product to the masses.

“We’ve had some regulars who have come in over the years who love the sandwich and wanted to get it where they are,” Fuchs explains of Washington, D.C.’s transient population. “It seemed like a natural fit since the import division has experience with rolling out products nationwide.”
