Abbott-IPCO Set To Celebrate Its 40th Anniversary

Dallas based Abbott-IPCO celebrates it's 40th anniversary this year.  Founded as IPCO (International Products Company) by Harry Hollander in 1974, the company acquired Abbott Industries of Irving, Texas in 1981, and formed the company currently known as Abbott-IPCO, Inc. (ABI), a wholesaler, importer and exporter of caladiums and other fine horticultural products.

In 2000 Hollander and former Twyford CEO Bob Hartman, formed Classic Caladiums, LLC in Avon Park, Florida, to introduce new and unique caladium cultivars.  Most of these new varieties are now featured in numerous branded programs on display in stores throughout the country.

After turning over day to day operations in 2012 to sons Richard (President) and Marvin (Vice President of Operations), Hollander continues to serve as the company CEO, and enjoys promoting and writing articles about his favorite horticultural item – the caladium.
