Emerald Coast Growers, Terra Nova Nurseries Form Strategic Alliance

Pensacola, Fla. – Emerald Coast Growers and Terra Nova Nurseries, Inc. have formed a strategic alliance to bring the renowned breeder’s hottest new plants to market. First fruits of the relationship: Emerald Coast Growers is the inaugural licensee for nine new Sedums from Terra Nova Nurseries.

“Terra Nova Nurseries’ plants are the best in the business, and we’re proud to share their innovative products with the market,” says Cheri Markowitz, Sales Manager. “These great new Sedums are just the start of this exciting venture.”

The new Sedum introductions include the Candy™ series, the Party Hardy™ series, 'Class Act', 'Crystal Pink', 'Hot Stuff' and 'Mr. Goodbud'.

“The exciting thing about these Sedums is that they stay strong and upright,” says Cheri. “They’re compact and won’t break apart.”

The Candy™ series features Chocolate Drop (chocolaty-brown upright stems with rose-colored flowers) and Raspberry Truffle (rosy pink flowers over scalloped deep brown/purple leaves). Plants grow 12-14” and are hardy to Zones 4-9.

The Party Hardy™ series includes Beach Party (masses of starry, light rose-pink flowers against yellow-green, red-edged foliage), Birthday Party (big dark rose pink flower heads over bronze/purple foliage) and Pool Party (light pink clusters contrasting with aqua-blue-green foliage). Plants grow 10-24” and are hardy in Zones 4-9.

‘Class Act’ offers rounded masses of rose flowers on dense upright mounds of muted green leaves. Winner of the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit, it grows 16” high and is hardy to Zones 4-9.

‘Crystal Pink’ bears big heads of icy, pale pink starry flowers on short stems. It grows 16” high and is hardy to Zones 4-9.

A dwarf form and the shortest and tightest S. spectabile type around, ‘Hot Stuff’ features ultra-bright pink flower heads. Growing 14” tall, it makes tight, solid mounds of pale green foliage. Hardy to Zones 4-9.

‘Mr. Goodbud’ is a color breakthrough with dark mauve flowers that open from light pink buds. Also an RHS Award of Garden Merit winner, it grows 15” and is hardy in Zones 4-9.
