Fresh-Cut & Live Christmas Trees Appeal To Senses & Family Nostalgia

A surprising number of people have thought of, but never quite taken the step, to have a real evergreen tree as their Christmas tree. Each year, they drag out the artificial variety and ponder their satisfaction. This year might just be the year to make a change and to consider some of the positives of a live or freshly cut tree.

A “live” tree is just that — purchasing a small evergreen tree with its roots still intact. Some varieties, such as the Scotch pine, are amicable to being replanted from a pot. So those who shudder at cutting a tree down do have options. The care of these trees is not so different from caring for a freshly cut tree.

Most people opt for a freshly cut tree that can be taken home and cared for much like cut flowers until the holiday is over, and then disposed of properly and according to local laws.
