One Of Florida’s Largest Flower Growers In Foreclosure Over 128 Acres

Kerry’s Nursery, one of the largest flower growers in Florida, has been hit with a foreclosure lawsuit over nearly 128 acres in Homestead and Apopka, the South Florida Business Journal reports.

Florida Federal Land Bank Association filed a lawsuit on Dec. 18 against Kerry’s Nursery, formerly known as Kerry’s Bromeliad Nursery, and managing member Kerry Herndon.

The lawsuit concerns two mortgages issued for $7.1 million and $5 million in 2002 by Farm Credit, a member-owned agricultural lending organization. The nursery received future advances of $350,000 in 2007 and $296,000 in 2010.

In Orange County, the lawsuit seeks to seize the flower nurseries of 53.7 acres at 4051 Fudge Road and of 36.4 acres at 550 E. Keene Road.
