PlantShed debuted their floral cafes in 2018 in both Nolita and the Upper West Side. The concept introduced a unique retail experience incorporating both a traditional floral and plant shop with a wellness-focused cafe. Challenging what a conventional retail space should entail, PlantShed’s floral cafes emphasize a lifestyle centered around nature. A lush oasis filled with tropical foliage, cacti and succulents along with premium flowers sourced from all over the world creates a space where busy New Yorkers can slow down and embrace café culture in its most unique form.
With extended hours, a revamped space, new workshops, and HaND’s botanical libations, PlantShed Prince provides a unique space to socialize and gather. Perched on the eastern edge of Nolita, directly across from the New Museum, PlantShed Prince’s reimagined interiors offer a laidback, casual environment for shoppers, museum-goers, tourists and Nolita natives to find respite from the buzz of this central downtown hub. A family-owned company with a strong community focus as a part of their core values, PlantShed is thrilled to celebrate this milestone with the local downtown community – residents and visitors alike.
PlantShed is a family-owned and operated business that has provided unparalleled service and high-quality plant life to New Yorkers since the 1950s. Its original location inside a lush 10,000 square foot facility on the Upper West Side boasts a rooftop greenhouse (a space from which the company has been operating since 1981). From this facility, PlantShed continues to service tri-state area residents and corporate clients with floral delivery, plant installation, and maintenance, as well as experiential event design. In 2018, PlantShed introduced a floral café concept at 555 Columbus Avenue on the Upper West Side and 1 Prince Street in Nolita, where florals are served up alongside coffee, pastries, and plants.
PlantShed strives to make purchasing plants and flowers a smooth, exciting, and informative process so that their customers can experience the same joy they have in working with nature. Their exceptional team has a diverse background in landscape design, floral design, fashion, and horticulture – allowing the company to create customizable and tailored arrangements for every occasion. Whether they are transforming a space with a dense forest of tropical foliage or helping style an intimate gathering, PlantShed approaches every event with a personal, professional, and seamless touch.
Offering an ever-evolving pottery collection, PlantShed’s staff strikes a balance between current trends and a timeless, natural look. The design-centric company has collaborated with global leaders ranging from Chanel, Victoria’s Secret, Kith, and Kirna Zabete to WeWork, The Grammys, and more.
