With the successful Selecta variety Christmas Feelings® we could win again in all pot sizes at this year’s nationwide quality competition Hoogstaand Geinspireerd, an event organized by the Dutch organization for agriculture and horticulture (LTO) in cooperation with FloraHolland. At this competition Dutch growers can present up to 3 varieties which were cultivated by them to have them examined regarding the quality. As it is known quality is the main aspect when selling Poinsettias. Therefore, the plants are put to the acid test:
At the beginning there is a 2 day lasting transportation simulation and a 5 day lasting store simulation followed by a quality testing for 5 weeks under “living room” conditions. Within these periods the pots are permanently monitored and the shelf life, especially of the bracts, is continuously reviewed. This year’s test 2011 had been evaluated within 3 weeks. And the results: Once more the multi-winning Christmas Feelings® was on top!
