WF&FSA Members elected Pat Dahlson, CEO of Mayesh Wholesale Florist, Inc., President at the Annual Business Meeting in Miami. Pat shared his vision for the future focusing in three areas: Passion, Education and Youth. Here's a look at some of his comments:
Passion!
"We have to earn our place in the hearts, minds and wallets of our potential customer. We must bring the passion every day. If we aren't excited about the beauty we get to work around, and the floral art our customers produce, from the flowers grown, transported, and distributed by the people in this room, who will be? I assume if you are at this conference and in this room the passion is still with you!"
Education.
"We must be in the business of education. Our employees must be equipped with as much flower knowledge as we can possibly give them and they in turn will pass that through to their clients who, in turn, will educate the general public about the virtues of flowers. We, as wholesalers and suppliers, must take a lead role in education:
