Wisconsin's Krueger Wholesale Florist Stays Strong Through Recession

ROTHSCHILD — Central Wisconsin residents who need floral arrangements and decorations to celebrate a special day often turn to Krueger Floral for a personal, homegrown touch.

The business, which began solely as a wholesale supplier, has expanded to provide cut flowers, arrangements and live plants directly to customers at its retail shops. At the same time, its wholesale business has expanded to deliver to seven states across the Midwest.

Growing business

Originally founded by Jim Krueger in 1963 in Merrill, the flower distributor has evolved over the years as the market for plants has evolved.

Tammy Fochs, retail marketing director, said that although Krueger Wholesale no longer flies in its flowers as it did almost 50 years ago, the business has expanded to include a transit company, fresh cut flowers, hard goods and home decor products.
