Derek Christiansen Joins Wixon As Protein Technical Account Manager

ST. FRANCIS, Wis. – Derek Christiansen has been named Protein Technical Account Manager for Wixon, a manufacturer of seasonings, flavors, and technologies for the food, beverage, and meat industries.

In this position, Christiansen will work closely on specific accounts in The Wixon Protein Group division, overseeing sales and marketing functions, purchasing, and product development. He will assist with the development and implementation of the division’s strategic plan and be responsible for expanding and maintaining relationships with personnel and customers. Christiansen will report to Ron Ratz, Director of Protein Development at Wixon’s Innovation Center for Culinary and Meat Processing.

Christiansen has 10 years of experience in the meat and food ingredients industry. Prior to joining Wixon, his background included serving as regional sales manager for a food ingredient distributor, as well as technical sales manager for an ingredient producer. Christiansen began his career in research and development, creating value-added products with a national processor for the meat industry.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Meat and Animal Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is a member of the Institute of Food Technologists.

Christiansen currently resides in Madison with his wife, Rachael. He enjoys outdoor activities, including camping, hunting, and fishing.
