JBS USA Picks New Beef Division Chief

There's a new man at the head of the beef division of JBS USA.

Bill Rupp, 50, was named president of the division effective Monday, said Chandler Keys, spokesman for the Greeley-based company. He succeeds Richard Vesta, who was named president in March of last year when JBS USA bought the Smithfield Beef Group.

Keys said Vesta will remain with the company and would work with Wesley Batista, president and chief executive of JBS USA “on other projects.” He said Vesta was a critical cog in merging the Packerland Beef Co. personnel from the Smithfield group into the JBS operation.

“He brought a lot of good people to Greeley from Packerland,” Keys said of Vesta.
