Shiner Smokehouse Sausages Now In Greater Houston-Area Kroger Stores

SHINER, Texas  — Shiner Smokehouse is proud to announce that Kroger supermarket stores throughout the greater Houston area now carry their premium sausages.

In 1937, Joe Patek opened the first brick-and-mortar store in Shiner, Texas, Patek's Grocery & Market, which garnered much success and eventually expanded into a smoked sausage and meat market. For 77 years, the Patek family has produced high-quality meat products for the local community.

Four generations later, Shiner Smokehouse was founded in order to bring the legendary Patek recipes to the broader public. The meats are carefully prepared with time, real smoke, and superior spices.

Shiner Smokehouse sausages contain zero trans fat, using the healthier animal fats from beef and pork, just the way our grandparents and great-grandparents enjoyed them. They use an all-natural casing with no additives, MSG, sugars, or fillers.

The brand was built – and will continue to be built – by the Patek family, in an effort to share the celebrated traditions for generations to come. This month, Paul Patek, son of Joe Patek, celebrates his 70th birthday.

"My father, Paul 'Buck Sr.' Patek, started working at the store 60 years ago and has worked there ever since," said Brian Patek, owner and CEO of Shiner Smokehouse. "60 years is no small feat to stick to something and never give up. That store is why I am who I am today. It is a symbol of hard work and a celebration of family."
