WEST UNION — Area residents soon will be able to purchase “natural” beef raised, processed and sold right here in North Central West Virginia.
The Doddridge County Economic Development Authority is overseeing the Mountain State Natural pilot program with six farmers and 30 cattle to test market the niche agribusiness, Executive Director Melissa Hinterer said.
There are four farmers from Doddridge County and two from Ritchie County participating. Mimi and Kenny Davis of Big Isaac are among them.
Kenny Davis explained the elements necessary to make sure the beef can be labeled “Mountain State Natural.”
