Wayne Farms Receives Business Longevity Award

Dobson, North Carolina – The Wayne Farms Dobson, NC facility recently earned receipt of the Business Longevity Award from the Greater Mt. Airy Chamber of Commerce. The Dobson facility has been in business for the past 32 years under Wayne Farms’ ownership.

The award was presented at an annual luncheon hosted by the Chamber on March 22nd at Cross Creek Country Club in Mt. Airy. On hand to accept the award from Wayne Farms were Paul Nordin, Wayne Farms Complex Manager and Karen Hardy, HR Manager. In addition to a plaque, each business recipient received a letter from North Carolina Senator Richard Burr congratulating them on their significant achievement.

Paul Nordin, Wayne Farms Complex Manager says: “In addition to being one of Surry County’s oldest businesses, Wayne Farms is proud to be one of its largest employers with approximately 900 employees and another 117 contracted growers. We are thrilled to call Surry County home and look forward to another 30+ years in business within this community.”

The Dobson facility consists of a 60,000 square-foot fresh processing plant and the Elkin Feed Mill and Hatchery and has been owned and operated by Wayne Farms LLC since 1980.
