13% Increase In Big Taste Production For BC Hot House

BC Hot House Foods will be starting its 40th year in business with a 13 percent increase in production for the 2013 season. The overall increase is the result of Darvonda Nursaries joining BC Hot House and increases in acreage from current grower members.

The largest increases will be in Sweet Bell Peppers and Long English Cucumber crops starting this spring.

Darvonda brings over 10 acres to BC Hot House as they continue to produce greenhouse cucumbers and tomatoes alongside their core base of floral production

Also contributing to the increase is Creekside Hot House which has added a 10 acre tomato facility in South Surrey to expand their specialty focus. Creekside’s lead grower brings a wealth of expertise to the facility with over 10 years of tomato growing experience for BCHH.

In addition, Bakerview Greenhouse is a new state of the art facility in Abbotsford which will add 11 acres of peppers this season with room for further expansion in 2014.

‘The BC Hot House full mix of Big Taste products continues to evolve and grow. We are very focused on expanding our grower base with experienced partners that are focused on taste, quality and customer service.’ comments Mike Reed, President, BC Hot House Foods Inc.
