Avocados From Mexico Launches New 'Hungry For Football' Promotion

DALLAS – Avocados from Mexico (AFM), the number one selling avocado in the U.S., today announced it will partner with Ro*Tel®, a ConAgra Foods brand, for its “Hungry for Football” promotion to get college football fans ready for the new season. The promotion is designed to get customers and consumers excited about the season and enthusiastic about incorporating AFM into their celebrations.

The “Hungry for Football” campaign will run from Sept. 8 through Dec. 15, 2014 and will be supported with contests, consumer savings, and social media to build awareness and excitement. TV advertising will also be used and is new to this campaign; a general AFM branded television campaign will kick-off October 2014 and will appear on broadcast networks against football programming.

“We’re excited about the return of football, and looking forward to providing fans with a delicious, versitile product to enjoy throughout the season,” said Maggie Bezart, vice president trand and promotions, AFM.

Retailers will be able to participate in display contests in which they will have the chance to win big prizes for creativity. Every valid entry will receive at least a $25 gift card, to encourage retailers to participate. Additionally, AFM has designed various unique signage and produce bins to assist retailers to creatively design displays.

As part of the campaign, consumers will benefit from mobile sweepstakes that allow them to text to win gift cards for groceries, as well as other savings, including “buy three Avocados from Mexico and get one can of Ro*Tel® diced tomatoes free”. There will also be instant-savings tearpads available at select retailers and text-to-save mobile coupons.
