Christopher Ranch Establishes Eco-Friendly Packaging

Gilroy, CA (February 2011) — Christopher Ranch has made the transition from its hard plastic (PET) style containers to re-sealable, recyclable bags. The bags are manufactured to use 80% less material than the old style jars at an estimated savings of more than one-half million pounds of plastic. Savings of carbon-dioxide emissions released during transportation are expected to be 100,000 pounds.

The new bags take up less refrigerator space and press flat for easy disposal taking up much less space in garbage and recycling bins. The enhanced design increases cooling efficiency to preserve product freshness, and the tear-off hood and tamper resistant membrane strengthens the line of food safety.
