Litehouse Celebrates Organic Harvest Month

SANDPOINT, IDAHO – Litehouse, Inc., the top-selling organic brand in the Refrigerated Salad Dressing (RSD) category, has grown its share of shelf by 47 percent over last year. To support the growth of its widely popular Litehouse Organic line, the company is celebrating September’s Organic Harvest Month with a series of online initiatives and promotions that will drive increased awareness for the organic sector and support category growth. 

According to the Organic Trade Association, American consumers spent more than $43 billion on organic in 2015, with $4.2 billion in organic sales added last year – marking the largest ever dollar increase in organic sales.  Additionally, growth is being driven by the large and diverse group of millennial parents who choose organic more than any other generation, and consumer demand for organic products continues to rise.

The Organic RSD segment is growing at nearly 51 percent over last year, and Litehouse Organic is contributing 45 percent of the organic segment growth over the last 52 weeks, per IRI data thru July 17, 2016.  As the Organic RSD category leader, Litehouse Organic makes up 53 percent of the category.

  • An on-pack IRC cross-promotion with Fresh Gourmet® will be available in select stores nationwide. Consumers can save $1 with the purchase of any Litehouse Organic Salad Dressing and Fresh Gourmet Organic Croutons.
  • The Organic Harvest Month landing page on www.LitehouseFoods.com will showcase organic data and information, consumer tips and a video recipe for Caprese Antipasto Salad with Organic Balsamic Dressing   
  • Litehouse social channels will be Organic Harvest Month-themed, with social posts and organic-relevant content throughout out the month, including blogger recipes
