Steve Terry Retires From Chelan Fresh

Chelan, WA, February 4, 2010 Chelan Fresh Marketing has announced that Steve Terry has elected to retire after 30 years in the fruit business.

For the past 5 years, Steve has been the General Sales Manager of Chelan Fresh Marketing, where he was instrumental in managing the development of the company from its inception to its current position as a major respected player in the Northwest fruit business.

Chelan Fresh Marketing was established in August 2004 as a result of a series of mergers and acquisitions and holds the sales and marketing responsibilities for Gebbers Farms, Chelan Fruit Cooperative, Gold Digger Apples and E. W. Brandt & Sons. Chelan Fresh Marketing provides the vehicle for over 400 growers to market their fresh fruit products under one roof.

Steve began his sales career at Gold Digger apples in Oroville in 1978, and was named Sales Manager in 1979. He moved to Beebe Orchard Company as Sales Manager in 1985 and to Dole Northwest when Beebe was acquired by Dole Food Company four years later. He became VP of Sales and Marketing at Dole Northwest in 1998. Shortly after Dole exited the Washington tree fruit industry, Steve moved to Trout/Blue Chelan in 2001, and was named Sales Manager the following year. He was named General Sales Manager of Chelan Fresh Marketing in 2004.

Steve has been replaced in the position of General Sales Manager at Chelan Fresh by Tom Riggan, who had previously been Director of Export Sales and Assistant Sales Manager.
