Summerside Storm To Sell Ultimate PEI Baked Potatoes To Benefit Island Food Banks

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE  – The Summerside Storm basketball team will be featuring an “Ultimate PEI Baked Potato” booth at the March 8th National Basketball League home game of the Summerside Storm versus the Oshawa Power at the Credit Union Place in Summerside.  These baked potatoes will sell with all proceeds to be donated to Prince Edward Island Food Banks.

Featuring Canada #1 Russet potatoes donated by the Prince Edward Island Potato Board, these Ultimate PEI Baked Potatoes will feature Prince Edward Island-made toppings such as COWS Sea-Salted Butter, Avonlea Clothbound Cheddar, and Hometown Pork Bacon.  Catering services will be donated by FiveEleven West at the Credit Union Place and the promotion will be proudly hosted by the Summerside Storm, an active participant in their local community.

Also participating in this event is Chef Michael Smith (www.chefmichaelsmith.com), one of Canada’s best-known chefs.   He’s the host of Chef Michaels Kitchen, Chef Abroad, Chef at Home and Chef at Large seen on Food Network Canada and in more than 100 other countries.  Michael is Prince Edward Island’s food ambassador, an award winning cookbook author, newspaper columnist, professional chef and home cook.
