Taniumura & Antle Gives Back To Local Community

SALINAS, CA. (December 23, 2010) – This month Tanimura & Antle has continued their tradition of supporting the Salinas Salvation Army and the annual “Share Your Holiday” event to give back to the community during the holiday season. This 12th year of Tanimura & Antle’s support of the Salvation Army helped feed over 700 Central Coast families with a donation of celery, Artisan Red Onions, Broccoflower, Artisan Lettuce, cilantro and iceberg lettuce. With the help of company sponsors and members of the community, the “Share Your Holiday” event raised $88,855 in cash, 15,250 lbs. of food, over 900 turkeys and 1,995 lbs. of clothes/blankets for local families.

Major Kris Potter, who oversees the Salinas Salvation Army said, “We can’t thank Tanimura & Antle enough for the years of support and dedication. This holiday season the need is greater than ever and we really need our community to lend any assistance possible. The fresh produce is a great help and Tanimura & Antle’s annual offer to use their distribution facility as a storage and distribution center for the toys and food boxes is invaluable.”

Now in its 24th year, the daylong “Share Your Holiday” event is televised live as the station urges the community to bring donations of clothing, food, cash or unwrapped toys to various locations in the area. Tanimura & Antle supplied a refrigerated trailer for food storage and for first time, brought extra cheer by bringing Santa and Mrs. Claus to the event. Santa himself was quoted as saying, “Stopping by the KSBW “Share Your Holiday” event was great! Mrs. Claus and I enjoyed participating in such a giving event and were thrilled by the outpouring of love from the Central Coast Community.”
