The Produce Mom To Bring The Excitement Of #FreshSummit To Consumers

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – The Produce Mom will co-host what promises to be one of the largest social events of the Produce Marketing Association Fresh Summit Convention & Expo – #FreshSummit Twitter Party. The online party will stream live from the Anaheim Convention Center at 11 a.m. PST, Saturday, October 18. Tweets will broadcast on the PMA large media screens throughout the venue.

“Fresh Summit Expo is the most significant annual event for the produce industry. I challenge my industry friends to share this excitement with consumers. Join the conversation, use the PMA hashtag (#FreshSummit) and share your photos and produce knowledge on social media. Consumers have questions about fruits and vegetables and we have the answers,” said Lori Taylor, The Produce Mom.

Co-hosting the event alongside The Produce Mom will be Chiquita, Josie’s Organics, Nature Fresh Farms, North Bay Produce, Sage Fruit, Salad Savoy, Tanimura & Antle and Viva Tierra.

“This year at Fresh Summit, we’re taking the conversation beyond the boundaries of the Anaheim Convention Center and encouraging the industry to talk online. We’re integrating social media throughout the show. Participants will see what’s happening online via Expo media walls streaming the official hashtag, #FreshSummit,” said Elizabeth Rich, PMA’s Director of Digital Content. “Indy Fruit is setting a great example, and it’s really exciting to see a group of industry influencers come together for an organized Twitter party, live from the Expo floor.”

“At Tanimura & Antle, we know social media is a great way to engage with the people who enjoy the produce we grow,” said Caitlin Antle Wilson, Sales and Marketing Manager. “We’re excited to partner with The Produce Mom in creating new ways to share the world of produce with our social media audience. A live Twitter party from the floor of the PMA Expo is the perfect vehicle to bring our followers to #FreshSummit with us!”

The Produce Mom’s social media parties and contests have proved to be very popular, often trending on Twitter’s national feed. “It’s a great way to connect the actual producers and suppliers with consumers while promoting innovative ideas on how to select, store and serve their produce,” said Taylor. Instructional tweet and repost guidance from The Produce Mom will also help participants grow their own social media following.

In addition to the #FreshSummit Party, The Produce Mom will participate in additional conference events, including her role as judge of the Sensory Experience Contest. Showcasing fun, kid-friendly recipes from exhibitors, the Sensory Experience Contest features ten finalists’ recipes in a private tasting session where the Buyers’ Choice and Kids’ Choice winners will be selected.
