Tony Stachurski Promoted To Vice President, Hardie's Houston

HOUSTON – Hardie’s has a lot to celebrate this year.  This year marks the company’s 70th Anniversary, and that’s no small potatoes in today’s consolidation-happy, competitive business environment.  The family-owned and operated company has thrived in large part to talented leaders like Tony Stachurski who was just named Vice President of the Hardie’s Houston division.

The 32 year-old Stachurski joined Hardie’s 9 years ago as a buyer.  He worked his way up through the Procurement ranks putting together an extensive logistics program and contracting freight to buying virtually every commodity under the sun.  It wasn’t long before Stachurski  was head of  Hardie’s Food Service Purchasing and Director of Operations in Dallas before being promoted to  General Manager for the Houston operation in September of 2011.

“Tony has worked in both the Dallas and San Antonio offices and has been able to bring our best practices from across the company to Houston,” said Mark Austin, Division President for Hardie’s Dallas and Houston.  “Tony came in and really raised the bar by putting Hardie’s quality stamp on it.  His promotion to Vice President is in recognition of the level of service he brings to our customers.”

Under Stachurski’s management, Hardie’s Houston is thriving with an expanded warehouse facility on Produce Row, a new fresh-cut processing room, significant new business with contracted customers, local Houston ISDs and large retailers – all while taking care of existing customers.  It’s not hard to see why Produce Business magazine named Stachurski to its 40 under 40 in 2012.

“Our Houston customers have been great,” said Stachurski.  “I am really excited to build on Hardie’s legacy here to continually improve our service to them.  And with our expanded warehouse and new processing room, we are poised for growth in the Houston market.”

Hardie’s Fruit & Vegetable Company carries more than 1,300 items produced locally and from around the world including fresh, organic produce, dairy and specialty items. With a fleet of more than 100 trucks statewide, Hardie’s is able to provide the freshest products on a daily basis from the Red River to the Rio Grande.  Headquartered in Dallas, Hardie’s also has facilities in Austin, Houston, San Antonio and cross dock in McAllen, TX.
