Nixa, MO – The Tyler Phipps Memorial Scholarship Fund is now accepting applications for the college scholarship for the 2017-18 academic year. The scholarship will be awarded to a high achieving high school senior looking to advance their education in the agriculture industry. The recipient of this scholarship will apply these funds to an institution of their choice in the amount of $3500. For more information and a link to apply, visit www.tylerphippsmemorialfund.org. The guiding principle of this scholarship is to provide an opportunity for another accomplished individual within the industry to continue along the path that Tyler began. This is the first year the Tyler Phipps Memorial Foundation will be offering this college scholarship. In addition to the college scholarship, the Tyler Phipps Memorial Foundation also offers an annual scholarship awarded to a senior industry professional looking to advance their career in the produce industry. This scholarship will allow them to attend the PMA Executive Leadership Symposium.
Tyler Phipps was a dedicated member of the Market Fresh Team for nine years, as well as the son of Steve Phipps, Chief Executive Officer of Market Fresh Produce. This professional, charismatic young man lost his life on September 26, 2015. In honor of Tyler Phipps, the Tyler Phipps Memorial Scholarship was established to provide funds to assist in advanced education in the Agriculture or Produce Industries.
