Nogales, AZ – Veggies Inc., a full-service wholesale produce company, has recently made business improvements to expand their company services.
Veggies Inc. under the leadership of CEO Mike Vohland, has expanded their facility square footage by seventy-five percent, increasing their number of dock doors from eight to thirteen and added a ramp for expanded cross-docking services. Their warehouse, which is completely Primus certified, has the ability to control three different temperature zones and offers the capacity for up to twenty semi-trailers to be parked and waiting for loading or unloading.
Incorporated into their expanded facilities, was the purchase of new USDA certified production lines. Two of the new lines will be used for private labeling and conditioning perishables, whereas the other two will be used for overwrap processing and production needs.
Marco A. Barreda, Vice President of Veggies Inc. commented, “We are always looking for ways to continually improve our products and services, and with our added facilities and employees, we will be able to do just that, to an even greater audience. Our production alone already operates year round and as the seasons transfer, we are also able to handle products from not just Mexico, but also different regions such as California, Texas and Arkansas providing quality produce to customers year-round.”
With their expanded facilities and production, Veggies Inc. has also increased their employee base with the addition of two more accounting staff members and warehouse personal such as loaders, in-house quality control, dispatchers and field quality control. Veggies Inc. not only takes pride in their produce, but also takes pride in having quality people, such as newly hired salesman Luis “Louie” Valenzuela. Promoted in October of 2013, Valenzuela has been in the produce business for fifteen years and brings with him prior experience from positions in loading, quality control and dispatch.
“2013 has been a busy year for Veggies and we are eager to be a key service provider to grower-shippers, importers and retailers in 2014 and beyond,” remarked Barreda.
