Well•Pict Berries is excited to unveil two new berry varieties at their PMA Booth #1067 in Orlando this week!
First off, Well•Pict will be introducing their premium proprietary Strawberry Variety #4053, replacing the old #2880. While it’s their first year in production, these strawberries were specifically developed to produce larger berries later in the season, without sacrificing any of their naturally delicious flavor. “These superior plants are already outperforming expectations,” says Dan Crowley, Well•Pict Sales Manager. “The bigger strawberries will make for even more beautiful displays this fall, which means even higher sales in produce departments featuring Well•Pict Berries.”
In addition to this new-to-the-market strawberry variety, Well•Pict will also be showing off their recently developed proprietary Raspberry Variety #2933. Using tried-and-true growing methods, where the mother plants are picked based on the desired characteristics of the fruit they bear, this variety has been naturally engineered to deliver not only larger berries, but “supersized” flavor as well. As amazing as it seems, absolutely no steroids or other growth hormones have been used to produce this amazingly large size fruit. Even more outstanding, these new raspberries maintain all the sweet, juicy flavor that Well•Pict Berries are known for worldwide. Well•Pict is further pleased that the plants are now mature enough to allow for 100% conversion to the new variety, with shipping currently taking place to all markets.
Both the new Strawberry and Raspberry Varieties will be on display and available for tasting at this year’s PMA, promises Crowley. “We’re thrilled to have our new varieties ready for people to enjoy at this year’s show,” he says. “It takes a lot of time, money and energy to develop superior varieties like these, and we think people will not only be able to see, but also taste the difference.”
