Zespri Kiwifruit's First Volume For 2015 Available In North America

New York, NY – Zespri, the world leader in premium-quality kiwifruit and one of the world’s most successful horticultural marketing companies, today announced the launch of its 2015 season in North America. This year, Zespri will primarily focus on and promote its newest variety, SunGold, which will be produced and sold in greater volumes this year.

An attractive, larger kiwifruit with a delicate texture inside a smooth skin, Zespri’s SunGold Kiwifruit ranked highly in sensory testing. SunGold appeals to fans of Zespri Gold and Zespri Green Kiwifruit. Full of vitality, this juicy, golden-fleshed new variety has a refreshing, sweet taste with a hint of tanginess. Zespri SunGold Kiwifruit provides the daily dose of Vitamin C.

“We are ramping up a multi-media campaign in various markets around the country starting the week of 22 June,” explains Senior Marketing Manager of Zespri North America, Michele Hoard. “Zespri will also be promoting the convenience of eating kiwifruit (with Zespri’s cut-and-scoop method), as well as the great taste of the different varieties and the myriad health properties of Zespri Kiwifruit.”

The national campaign will focus on regional television spots and regionally customized programs. Zespri will implement a well-rounded campaign with sampling and customized point of sales marketing. Zespri will also be leveraging its active, well-followed social media accounts. Zespri was one of the first produce organizations to start in this area of marketing.
