Boston – Consistent with their ongoing commitment to food safety, Costa Fruit and produce is pleased to announce that it has achieved Safe Quality Food (SQF) Level 2 certification.
SQF is recognized by retailers, foodservice providers and regulatory agencies around the world that require rigorous, credible food safety management programs and is the only Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) recognized standard that provides a separate, unique approach that incorporates a Quality certification component.
SQF certification allows food safety and quality systems to be verified and validated throughout the food chain. Certification requires a facility pass rigorous safety, allergen, cleanliness and production inspections.

Costa continues to implement new logistic systems into their operations including several very extensive warehouse renovations. New logistics software for order selection and inventory management, an expanded refrigerated loading dock and a quality assurance production area for less than case products are just a few that will surely enhance service levels.
