Fairway Market Takes Kosher Catering To A Whole New Level

NEW YORK — Maximizing its more than 80 years of experience and capitalizing on what is arguably the largest selection of kosher grocery products in the country, Fairway Market (NASDAQ: FWM) unveiled today a new 84-page kosher catering menu to make any gathering – from weddings, B'nei Mitzvahs, Kiddushes, and holiday and Shabbat meals to Super Bowl parties, business lunches, brunches, and simple get-togethers with friends – delicious, healthy, and all under the internationally-recognized and trusted supervision of KOF-K.

The menu, (http://www.fairwaymarket.com/files/catering/fairway-kosher-catering-menu-2013-final.pdf), a veritable encyclopedia of the best-of-the-best from Fairway's world-class kitchens, is available in each of Fairway's 14 stores in New York City, Long Island, New Jersey, Westchester, Rockland, and Connecticut.

And no matter the occasion, Fairway's Kosher Catering is a one-stop shop, offering not just the most scrumptious and diverse food selections, but also full catering service, including staffing, linens, floral design, and other party equipment rental needs. There are also specialized savings offers for synagogues, and gift card programs to support fundraising and non-profit organizations. In addition, Fairway, with its powerful marketing arm, can help these synagogues and organizations with their outreach efforts to ensure that they achieve their goals.

"Fairway has attained an unparalleled track record in the kosher food world over the past three-quarters of a century," said Herb Ruetsch, Chief Executive Officer of Fairway Market. "Now, we are building on this record by creating long-term catering relationships with individuals, organizations, synagogues, and companies in the tri-state area. Our team will hand hold customers through the entire process, from giving guidance on food selection to providing party rentals and service. And, of course, the food prepared by our world-class chefs is plentiful and simply delicious."

The menu choices are structured so individuals can create their own bill of fare or select from the many themed packages, including Asian, Latin, Israeli, Italian, and Deli, for their special occasion, program, observance or celebration. In total, it is an enticing array of hors d'oeuvres, entrees, desserts, breads and beverages that are available from Fairway Market's world class kosher catering kitchens.

In fact, Fairway Kosher caters to parties from five to 500 people and is already the exclusive for Temple Beth Torah on Long Island.  Its meat menu features traditional favorites such as triple decker New York deli sandwiches and deli platters with moist or lean pastrami and house cooked tongue.

There are also have modern offerings such as the Latin dinner package with beef fajitas and "pollo a la brasa," and the Game Day packages with bruschetta chicken heroes and house made potato chips, antipasto platters, BBQ brisket latke bites, Argentine skirt steak with chimichurri sauce and exceptional sushi and sashimi with Miami sunshine and Red Ocean rolls.  For dairy, Fairway offers its signature hand-sliced smoked salmon, whitefish, sable, baked salmon, together with its famous bagels, as well as inventive dishes such as black cod with wild mushrooms and lemon Beurre Blanc, and an artisanal cheese board with guava gelée served on a slate tray.

For birthday and other parties, there are packages with everything from crudites to short rib sliders to mini pastries to three-foot heroes and chicken wings. Breakfast meetings can be more memorable with Texas-style challah French toast, blintzes and quiche.

"We have carefully crafted choices for all taste buds, from traditional foods for weddings, Kiddushes, baby namings, Shabbat dinners, and the like, as well as more contemporary foods for Super Bowl gatherings, birthday parties, brunches, business lunches or just evenings with friends," said Rebecca Martin, catering director for Fairway. "This is an outstanding and comprehensive menu that our kosher customers will love."

"To be able to offer such a wonderful and varied catering menu to our kosher customers throughout the year, and not just at holiday time, is a very exciting venture for Fairway," said Ruetsch "We take great pride in our efforts to serve the community with high quality kosher meats, bakery goods, private label products and so much more."

For the biggest food holiday of the year, Fairway will host a kosher Thanksgiving food sampling in the Westbury, Stamford, and Paramus stores from 11 am to 3 pm on Sunday, November 3. Customers can taste candied sweet potatoes, butternut squash soup, apple cranberry challah stuffing, roasted Empire kosher turkey and more.
