WHITBY — The largest Canadian-owned, independent food service distributor in the country is creating more than 100 local jobs as part of the company’s $20-million investment to expand the facility in Whitby.
Flanagan Foodservice’s expansion will bring the warehouse, located at 295 South Blair St., to more than 178,000 square feet. Representatives from the company were joined by Whitby Mayor Don Mitchell and members of council at a groundbreaking ceremony on Oct. 25.
“Flanagan Foodservice is a large, well-known, family-owned company that we’re proud to welcome to our town,” said Mayor Mitchell in a release.
