Online Grocer Door To Door Organics Adds Two Veterans To Management Team

LOUISVILLE, Colo.- Door to Door Organics, a leading natural and organic online grocery store, today announced the recent appointment of Greg Lems as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Jeff Ludwin as Vice President of Merchandising. Both industry veterans will play key roles as the company continues its impressive growth trajectory and accelerated expansion into new markets.

A seasoned technologist with deep experience building and leading IT and development teams, Lems was named CIO of the Year by the Denver Business Journal in 2011. As CTO at Door to Door Organics, Lems is responsible for implementing and managing Door to Door Organics’ innovative ecommerce and operating model, including continued enhancement of the company’s food sourcing and distribution technology and empowering the strategic initiatives related to the company’s key product offerings. Prior joining Door to Door Organics, Lems served as CTO of Denver-based location marketing technology company Placeable.

As VP of Merchandising, Ludwin brings a wealth of food, ecommerce and merchandising experience to Door to Door Organics. In his new role, Ludwin is responsible for the company’s high-quality, fresh-focused ecommerce offering, and will also work directly with the customer experience team to increase customer retention and help drive product and service innovation. Ludwin joins Door to Door Organics from online grocer Fresh Direct, where he most recently managed and directed the category assortment, sourcing and purchasing of all meat, poultry and seafood for the company.

“Since our inception, we have focused on offering superior local, natural and organic products through a unique web experience,” said Chad Arnold, CEO of Door to Door Organics. “Greg and Jeff each bring a tremendous amount of industry expertise and passion to our senior leadership team – all of which will be vital as we continue to execute on our aggressive growth plan.”

Door to Door Organics' strategic growth model is built around a lean, iterative approach to both market expansion and product development. By targeting a mixture of mid-level and Midwest markets, as well as the Tri-State region running from Delaware to New York on the East Coast, the company has successfully built a loyal customer base and a network of more than 200 farming partners to fuel sustainable growth and retention.

Founded in 2005, Door to Door Organics currently operates in 12 markets and 32 cities. Since its founding, Door to Door Organics has made more than two million deliveries and expects to have acquired more than 50,000 new customers by the end of 2015.
