Patterson Vegetable Company Announces SQF Certification

Patterson Vegetable Company announced to the trade and customer partners today that they have attained SQF Certification, Level 2, effective December 30, 2010. The (SQF) or Safe Quality Food program is a leading global food safety and quality certification program, designed to meet the needs of buyers and suppliers worldwide. The program provides independent certification that a suppliers food safety and quality management system complies with domestic and international food safety regulations. The cornerstone of the SQF program is unannounced facility and process audits conducted by independent and highly trained food safety inspectors.

In a statement released by Patterson Vegetable Company, President and CEO Eric Schwartz, he said “We are extremely pleased to be able to announce this milestone achievement for food safety. SQF certification is another layer in our overall food safety and quality management systems that assure customers they are getting the highest quality, safest food, possible. We fully recognize that food safety and quality is a continuous journey and not a destination.”

Patterson Vegetable Company is a premium supplier of California grown IQF spinach and other frozen vegetables, for retail, food service, and ingredient processors. Patterson Vegetable is a division of Woolf Farming and Processing, and operates processing facilities in Patterson, and Oxnard, California.
