Supply Chain Alliance Hosts Purchasing And Business Conference In Richmond, VA

Legacy Foodservice Alliance recently hosted its Fall Marketplace in Legacy’s hometown of Richmond, Virginia. The Marketplace took place at the Marriott Downtown, and was host to over 350 Independent Foodservice Distributor and Supplier attendees from across North and Central America.

The Marketplace is Legacy’s semi-annual Purchasing and Business Development Conference, that provides Supplier Members an opportunity to generate volume purchases and develop promotional planning with Distributor Member’s key decision-makers and company leaders. The format offers a variety of avenues to stimulate purchases and build long-lasting prosperous relationships for Legacy Members.

“It was very special for us this time around,” Steve Push Legacy Foodservice Alliance Chairman and CEO shared. “Not only for the fact that we were able to welcome our Members to our hometown. But, we are an alliance of independent thinkers and entrepreneurs that just eight short years ago who felt there was a better way to approach the group business – and we went our own way. Being independent, and doing things the way we feel they should be done is at the heart of what Legacy is about. And, the fact that we were just a few blocks from where Patrick Henry, another independent-minded person, gave a famous speech that helped create a new independent nation – well, that was pretty neat.”

“There is always a lot of activity at The Marketplace,” added Jennifer Blanchard, Legacy’s Member Services Manager. “Being in our hometown, we wanted to do something special, so we added several Richmond specific events for the Members.” Drawing on the long running Virginia is for Lovers ad campaign, social events featured Virginia food, wines, and beers. “One of the real highlights was a Kissing Booth featuring dogs from the Richmond SPCA, and Legacy Foodservice Alliance Members contributed a significant amount of money for the organization.” “It was really fun to see how everyone interacted with the dogs,” added Blanchard.
