Wal-Mart Looks To Build 2nd Large Distribution Hub In Fort Worth

Retail giant Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is looking to double its distribution capabilities in Dallas-Fort Worth with its second major distribution center at AllianceTexas in Fort Worth.

The proposed $32 million, 850,000-square-foot build-to-suit facility could help the retailer rapidly expand in the e-commerce business, which is one of Wal-Mart's targeted areas for retail growth.

The new facility would sit on more than 50 acres near Fort Worth Alliance Airport near its existing 788,000-square-foot distribution hub, which would be significant for the region, Robert Sturns, domestic and international business recruiter for the City of Fort Worth, told the Dallas Business Journal.
