Whole Foods Market will be casting a net in March for Iowa vendors.
The Texas-based grocery chain, which will open a store this summer in West Des Moines, has scheduled a March 27 vendor fair at Springhill Suites, 1236 Jordan Creek Parkway, West Des Moines.
“We are sending out flyers to local organizations in greater Des Moines and Iowa to reach out to local vendors,” Stefani Garcia, Midwest-region local forager for Whole Foods Market, said, adding there is particular interest in signing local produce farmers.
The event will be open to vendors that can fulfill specific product needs for the market’s departments. Interested producers are being asked to go to www.wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/westdesmoines and complete applications prior to March 11, Garcia said.
