Atascadero-based Central Coast Seafood is one of six companies honored by the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce last week with a 2009 Green Award for working toward being sustainable.
The other businesses and organizations honored this year are MINDBODY, Inc., Food Bank Coalition of SLO County, Central Coast Vineyard Team, Sports Warehouse and Semmes and Co. Builders.
We do a lot of work with sustainable seafood, said Central Coast Seafood owner and president Giovanni Comin. Were the only fish company in the U.S. currently partnered with FishWise, which is a retail branch of the Monterey Bay Aquarium to educate customers on sustainability issues on whats considered sustainable and whats not.
