OCI Appoints New Vice President Of Resource Management & Sustainability

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Loyola Sullivan as Vice President of Resource Management and Sustainability. This will be a senior management position, reporting to the CEO/COO, with responsibility for all resource management matters and for the corporate sustainability program.

In this role Loyola will oversee all resource management and sustainability issues for the company and actively participate with all stakeholders in advancing the strategic priorities of the company in these areas. He will be responsible to ensure that our main seafood resources are sustainable for the long term and also work towards achieving our corporate objective to have all our fisheries third party accredited by 2013, which is aligned with the priorities of our worldwide customer base.

Loyola was most recently Canada’s Ambassador for Fisheries Conservation with responsibility for making sure the world was clear about Canada's priorities for global fisheries that included sustainable resource use, and the conservation and rebuilding of global fish stocks.

Loyola was educated at Memorial University of Newfoundland (BSc, 1971; BEd, 1974) and has been involved as an owner/operator of fish processing operations. He was also involved in Provincial politics for almost 15 years, having served both in Opposition and in Government (Minister of Finance and President of Treasury Board and Government House Leader).

Loyola is very passionate about Newfoundland & Labrador and we look forward to his contribution to our company and the fishing industry in our Province. Please join us in congratulating Loyola on his appointment as he starts his new position at OCI next week.
