Orca Bay Seafood Launches New Single Serve Line

Orca Bay Seafoods, Inc. has added a new product line to their retail offerings- single serve, all-natural seafood in a direct-printed vacuum package. This new packaging eliminates one layer of plastic from the waste stream and increases consumer convenience by being single-serve and provides a single portion option for consumers beyond Orca Bay's traditional 10 oz. bags that the Renton-based seafood company successfully markets to retailers nationwide.

The new retail line includes 14 different products with a variety of fish – Alaska Cod, Halibut, Keta Salmon, Sablefish, Sockeye Salmon, Mahi Mahi, Swordfish, and Wahoo. Items are portioned to be convenient and user friendly and available with or without value-added ingredients such as dry herbs and spices.

Roger Fickenscher, Director of Product Development says, "With consumer awareness firmly focused on sustainable practices, we wanted to provide packaging options that mirror our Common Sense Sourcing philosophy of doing business."

"It's a 'win-win-win' not only for the environment but also for consumers and retailers.  Consumers are still getting a natural, healthy, and delicious product but with the option of purchasing a single portion," adds Lilani Estacio, Marketing and Communications manager, "and the Single Serve line lends itself to be more flexible, both in weight and in value-added ingredients, to what our retail customers might want to carry in their freezer section."

Orca Bay Seafoods is a leading North American seafood processor and distributor since 1985.
