Orca Bay Seafoods has been awarded certification in Chain of Custody from ASMI (Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute) by successfully meeting the requirements of the FAO-Based Responsible Fisheries Management (RFM) Chain of Custody Certification standard administered by Global Trust.
This new independent, third-party certification of the management of the major Alaska commercial fisheries is directly based on the respected United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries, management and the FAO Guidelines for the Ecolabeling of Fish and Fishery Products from Marine Capture Fisheries (Guidelines) – both recognized around the globe as the best criteria for responsible fisheries management.
