A new specialty market is open in Fort Payne and is bringing flavors of the Gulf to DeKalb County residents.
Off the Boat Seafood and Specialty Market is open in the old Baty's Beverages location in north Fort Payne.
They specialize in fresh seafood and cooked dinners to go.
"We do baked, broiled and steamed seafood dinners," Owner Kelly Parker said. "We also do specialty items like shrimp and grits, casseroles and soups."
Parker, who managed Papa Rocco's Oyster Bar in Gulf Shores for 15 years, said she and her husband, former residents of Perdido Beach, built a cabin in Mentone about four years ago.
