The Chilean Blueberry Committee Issues First Forecast of the Season

The Chilean Blueberry Committee of ASOEX, together with iQonsulting, have estimated a volume of 82,000 tons of fresh blueberries for the 2023/24 season.  This represents a six percent decrease in fresh exports from the previous year.  Updated estimates will be released throughout the Chilean Blueberry season.

ASOEX expresses solidarity with families and communities that have been affected by heavy rains in Central and Southern Chile

In response to heavy rains impacting both Central and Southern Chile, the Chilean Fruit Exporters Association (ASOEX) said they are assessing damage in growing areas and the impact on water storage and irrigation infrastructure, as well as evaluating support actions to communities impacted by the rain.

ASOEX Table Grape Committee Announces Strategic Plan and its First Estimate for the 2022/23 Season

The president of The Chilean Fruit Exporters Association, Iván Marambio, together with Ignacio Caballero, Coordinator of the Table Grape Committee and Director of Marketing of ASOEX, announced a strategic plan for the newly formed grape committee.  This is an important step in enhancing the competitiveness of Chile’s grape industry in international markets.

Longtime Leader of Chilean Fruit Industry Retiring

The Board of Directors of the Chilean Fruit Exporters Association A.G. (ASOEX) has announced that Mr. Ronald Bown is transitioning to retirement. Following a long and detailed selection process, the Board of Directors has appointed Mr. Iván Marambio Castaño as the new Chairman of the ASOEX board. 

World Apple And Pear Association (WAPA) Presents Annual Southern Hemisphere Crop Forecast

On the occasion of its Annual General Meeting, the World Apple and Pear Association (WAPA) has released the Southern Hemisphere apple and pear crop forecast for the upcoming season. According to the forecast, which consolidates the data from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, New Zealand, and South Africa, apple and pear production is estimated to decrease by 7% and 6% respectively in 2022 compared to the previous year.
