Woolwich Dairy Takes Grand Champion Honor At World Dairy Expo

Woolwich Dairy of Orangeville (Ontario) Canada, and Lancaster, Wisconsin, was one of three dairies selected as grand champions of the 2012 World Dairy Expo (WDE) Dairy Product Contest.  Woolwich Dairy was named the Cheese and Butter Grand Champion, with a 99.9% score for its Wild Blueberry Vanilla goat’s milk cheese, and also took second and third place—Cranberry Cinnamon and Fine Herb, respectively—in the goat milk cheese category.

Mike Matucheski, Sartori Master Cheesemaker, was again dubbed "Grand Master Cheesemaker" at the 2012 Wisconsin State Fair Cheese and Butter Contest after being presented with the competition's Grand Champion award for Sartori's Limited Edition Pastorale Blend®.  This award was the culmination of a very successful Wisconsin State Fair competition where Sartori was awarded four additional ribbons.

Laura Chenel's Chèvre & Marin French Cheese Garner Seven Awards At ACS

Two icons of California cheesemaking, Laura Chenel’s Chèvre and Marin French Cheese, collected a combined seven top prizes at the annual American Cheese Society (ACS) Judging and Competition held Aug. 3rd  in Raleigh, North Carolina. Competing against 1,711 entries in the largest number of American artisan cheeses to be entered into the judging to date, the two northern California sister companies scored individual bests for goat cheese (Laura Chenel’s Chèvre) and cow cheese (Marin French).
