Families who depend on school lunches to provide nutritious meals need help during the summer months when school is out. The Farmer’s Cow, a group of six Connecticut family-owned dairy farms, has answered the call to partner with Connecticut Food Bank in East Haven and TEEG in Thompson to donate milk to support summer hunger programs.

Freshfel Europe Elects New President & Board

Freshfel Europe, the European Fresh Produce Association, held today its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Brussels, Belgium. Freshfel members elected together with a new Board Mr Philippe Henri (Creno/UNCGFL, France) as its new President, Mr Luc Clerx (Zespri) as its new Vice-President and Jérôme Fabre (Compagnie Fruitière) as Treasurer for the term 2012-2014. The association also celebrated on this occasion ten years of existence, looking back at a decade of successful operations for the benefit of the fresh produce industry while at the same time paving the way to move ahead.

A&P has signed the grocery industry’s third long-term produce purchase agreement (PPA), becoming the only retailer of BrightFarms’ Brooklyn-grown produce from the world’s largest rooftop farm.
